SAVING LIVES – ONE UNIT AT A TIME Blood Donation Drive 2019

SAVING LIVES – ONE UNIT AT A TIME Blood Donation Drive 2019

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India suffers from an annual deficit of two million blood units, as only 1% of Indian population donates blood each year. To try and turn around this dismaying reality in our little way, we at MiraMed Ajuba decided to mark “World Blood Donors Day” (14 June 2019) by organizing a blood donation drive at all of our facilities.

As always, this socially responsible initiative was met with tremendous enthusiasm and fervour by the MiraMed Ajubans, with an astounding number of them came volunteering to donate blood! All of them felt an irreplaceable sense of satisfaction for saving lives in need of blood. We could see people coming out with glowing faces and twinkling eyes!

One donation can help save up to three lives. Donating blood is a completely safe process, not affecting a healthy donor in any way. Out of the 10 units of blood in an average human being, less than one unit is donated, which the body replenishes almost immediately.

The massive success of this Blood Donation Drive paves the way for many such initiatives in the near future too. Blood can neither be replaced nor created outside the human body. This makes Blood Donation the noblest of the noble deeds!
