Beyond Urbanity, into fascinating landscapes and experiences! Gram Seva – Edition 2

A thoroughbred Chennai vaasi embarks on a journey of a lifetime into the remote villages of Thiruvannamalai to weave a new chapter in his repertoire of experiences and live the life of a villager, stares into the eyes of a snake and scoots for his life!

The same Chennai vaasi, today, respects nature with all her elements and is immensely grateful to every farmer and the life he leads. The Chennai vaasi is a MiraMed Ajuban and this significant outcome is attributed to MiraMed Ajuba’s Gram Seva.

For the second edition of Gram Seva, a village in Thiruvannamalai district was chosen. 25 MiraMed Ajubans among numerous hopefuls started on the trip, armed with the will and the heart to help.

Once there, the Ajuban volunteers got on the fields, planted saplings, spread manure, dug up irrigation channels, basically finding and filling every opportunity to help. Alongside, the cooking team worked on wood stoves, to feed the well-worked volunteers.

Gram Seva is a flagship initiative of the organization that aims at addressing food wastage by providing employees with an understanding of the amount of effort invested in agriculture and food production. Those on the Gram Seva expedition return with a new found reverence for the food that reaches their plate. They have known to become sound advocates of food conservation and preservation.

The next edition of Gram Seva is on the anvil.
